We incorporated a sensitivity switch (goldplated aerospace rotary) originally used in V series consoles that makes the fixed 34dB gain switchable downwards in 3 dB steps and combined it with a 3 step gain range switch. This two switches together are identical to the original W77 Gain switch, but offer you a finer gain setting. (3dB steps)
Both channels are coming up with switchable +48 Volts ramped Phantom, including indicator lights.

The ultimate, the "Rolls-Royce" of tube mic preamps.
The V76 was designed by the Insitut für Rundfunktechnik and built from 1958 basically by TAB/Germany (Tonographie Apparatebau, Wuppertal/Eberfeld). Engineering standard and technical quality at this time was so high, that it would be impossible to build this preamp today for its current market price.
The V76 was designed for applications where the "standard" V72 could not provide enough gain (ie for dynamic mics) and where it was essential to have a switchable variety of gain steps plus some selectable high and low frequency pre filtering. The circuit of the gain selector works in a quite unique way of combining variable input attenuation and variable feedback. This results in very good noise figures at all gain settings.

EMT in its day was by far the most popular developer and manufacturer of artificial reverb solutions for the recording industry.
From the first prepackaged artificial plate reverb system, to the early (and arguably best sounding) EMT 250 digital reverb, EMT was the forerunner of the field. In 1957, EMT introduced the 140 Reverberation Unit.
During the '60s and '70s, most reverb used on famous recordings was generated from the EMT plate reverb. The sound quality of a plate is incredibly smooth and very dense.

Roland Kent Lavoie is better known by his stage name of Lobo. During the 1970s, Lobo hit the Billboard Hot 100 with 16 singles, including the million-seller "I'd Love You To Want Me."
His plan almost worked too well. Music critics hearing the single praised the "group" Lobo, not knowing it was actually a solo artist.
Lavoie decided to record as Lobo, a word that he says means "lone wolf" in Spanish, so he could hide his real identity.

Lobo wasn`t a real "lone wolf" the Neumann PV console was with him and gave him a slow, droning guitar sound," as he called it, for his next single, "I'd Love You To Want Me."
The single became Lobo's first, and only, Gold Record when it sold over a million copies.

The first Pulse Technologies EQ was launched in 1951. This EQP-1 was based on filter circuits licensed from Western Electric and sounded great, but suffered the gain insertion losses typical of any passive filter, so theyupgraded their original unit to the EQP-1A, which followed the EQ section with a gain makeup stage using a push-pull design with 12AU7, 12AX7 and 6X4 vacuum tubes. Designed for broad equalization of program material, the EQP-1A had four low boost/cut frequencies, three high-cut frequencies and a choice of seven HF boost points, along with a bandwidth control for shaping the high boost curve.

This unit is perfect for cleaning up tracks, and removing anomolies and objectionable artifacts from recorded tapes, films or records.. as such, they are just the unit for restoration and other applicable circumstances and requirements.

The Rane GE 30 Interpolating Constant-Q Graphic Equalizer is a single-channel, 1/3 octave equalizer. Housed in a two rack-space unit, the GE 30 features long throw, (60 mm) high resolution slide controls on each filter band ensuring good resolution over their entire range. The operating mode can be Boost/Cut, or by pressing a button on the rear panel, convert to be Cut-only. Another pushbutton on the rear panel allows the operator to select active balanced or transformer balanced output.
The active filter sections of the GE 30 are of the constant bandwidth (Constant-Q) variety. The bandwidth of each individual filter is guaranteed to be narrow enough to prevent unwarranted interaction between filters, yet wide enough to produce exactly the type of correction curve demanded by even the most unusual acoustic surroundings. The bandwidth has also been carefully selected to ensure that two adjacent filters may be used to achieve curves with peaks in between the center frequencies of the filters (interpolating characteristic). This differs dramatically from conventional designs of the past. Earlier designs (dating back as far as 50 years) are encumbered with the unfortunate characteristic of changing bandwidth with changing boost/cut amounts.
Front panel controls and indicators, aside from the 30 filter controls include an overall Level control as well as Signal present and Overload indicators. Sweepable band-limiting Filters are provided on the front panel, covering a range of 10 Hz to 250 Hz on the Low end and 3.1 kHz to 40 kHz on the High end. The rear of the unit provides a XLR balanced Input, a XLR balanced Output and screw terminals which duplicate both. Signal ground and chassis ground terminals are also available thus ensuring complete interconnect flexibility.

Although Tedeschi says she prefers old ribbon mics for vocals, Dubé turned to a Neumann U47 with a Telefunken V72 and a dbx 165A. There are a bunch of compressors here, but that always works for me no matter what I try, he says. It always comes back to the 47 and any other pre doesn't seem like it has the same midrange as the V72, and any other compressor makes it sound dull to me. There's something about the 165A that just works; I love it. The high end is right there; you can't really hear the compression that much!
